Richard A. Johnson has served as Foot Locker, Inc.’s President and Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors, steering the company through rapid shifts in the global athletic retail landscape while championing innovation and inclusivity in the sector. As CEO, Johnson has overseen transformational partnerships with top brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Puma, focusing on elevating customer experiences across digital platforms and more than 3,000 retail stores worldwide.
Joining Foot Locker nearly three decades ago, Johnson advanced through senior operational and merchandising roles before his appointment as CEO in 2014, bringing deep insights into retail operations and brand curation. Under his leadership, Foot Locker has expanded initiatives supporting sneaker culture, youth empowerment, and community engagement, while accelerating its omnichannel strategy and investing in digital growth to keep Foot Locker at the forefront of athletic retail.
Prior to his current role, Johnson was instrumental in Foot Locker’s global expansion efforts and led divisional strategy integrating store concepts such as Champs Sports and Footaction.
